The company was founded in 2003 by Arminio Fraga, former Governor of the Central Bank of Brazil and Luiz Fraga, former president of Latinvest Asset Management. The Company has approx. In October 2010, a majority interest in Gávea was sold to JP Morgan Asset Management and a strategic alliance with Highbridge Capital Management was formed.
