Mitiska is active in Romania through its JV First Retail

First Retail is a 50/50 joint-venture between Mitiska and NextGen. NextGen, the holding company of a Belgian private investor, is the former owner of the Profi supermarket chain in Romania. This Belgian investor has extensive experience in the European food retail business.

Within the joint-venture activities, Mitiska is responsible for the commercial and financial side of the real estate development projects while NextGen’s responsibilities include all local and technical matters.

First Retail consists of a team of about 10 people and the headquarters are based in Timisoara. By combining the international, institutional retail and retail real estate experience of Mitiska with the local expertise of NextGen, First Retail is well-equipped to become a dominant player in its niche market.

Next to its strong pipeline of projects in Romania, First Retail will also consider interesting opportunities in other CEE countries as they arise and the same strategy will be applied.
